Just Ramdom

So today I wake up and the wind is howling non-stop.  It's like the Arctic has moved in over night.  Feels like 20 below out there.  Anyway, thinking about cooking a pot roast for Saturday's dinner.  I'll post the recipe then.

Living in Florida from Oct. 2008 > June 2009 was nice but I missed New England and the change of seasons.  Yes, Winter seems to last forever but Spring Summer and Fall makes living in Connecticut worth while.  Each season there's a couple dishes that I must make that marks the time of year.

When you smell the air in Spring and watch the green return, the warmth of Summer while hanging out on the shoreline in Old Saybrook, the color of the leaves in Fall accompanied by the holidays, and of course together with family, there's nothing that compares.

Winter > Pot Roast and Pork Pie

 -- Spring > Ham dinners
--Summer > Grilling most days, Corn on the Cob, Sea food (Lobster, Steamers,Shrimp, Chowder... you name it.

--Fall > Shepard's Pie (my favorite) Homemade Chili.

Yes I know, meat meat meat....  I didn't mention all the seasonal vegetable dishes and pasta recipe's.

Food, Music, the smells of the season all are markers for memories.

What are your favorite foods for each season?  Post you absolute fav. recipe...
